PURPOSE: A cold and hot water generator is provided to reduce the installation and operation costs by simultaneously or selectively generating cold and hot water in a single system. CONSTITUTION: A cold and hot water generator comprises a dry compression cooling cycle(10), a hot water heating circuit, a cold water circuit(30), first and second hot water circulation pipes(40a,40b), and mode-switching solenoid valves(42a,42b,42c,42d,42e,42f). The dry compression cooling cycle comprises a compressor(11), a four-way valve(12), an indoor heat exchanger(13), an expansion valve for cooling(14), a re-condensing unit(15), an expansion valve for heating(16), an outdoor heat exchanger(17), and another four-way valve that are successively connected through refrigerant pipes(18a). The four-way valve and the compressor are connected through a refrigerant intake pipe(18b). In the hot water heating circuit, a bypass pipe(21) in which a condenser(22) is installed in the bypass pipe is connected between the compressor and the four-way valve, a heat-absorption heat exchanger(23) is installed in the condenser, and the upper and middle portions of the heat-absorption heat exchanger and a hot water storage tank(24) are connected to a discharge pipe(33) and a supply pipe(34) equipped with a circulating pump. In the cold water circuit, a cold and hot water heat exchanger(31) is installed in the indoor heat exchanger and the cold and hot water heat exchanger and a cold water storage tank are connected to a cold water discharge pipe and a cooled water supply pipe equipped with a circulating pump. The first and second hot water circulation pipes connect the cooled water supply pipe, the cold water discharge pipe, and the hot water storage tank.
