PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user using an image processing apparatus on a transmission side to easily and unfailingly perform operation for documents stored in an image processing apparatus at a receiver side. SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus 1 at a transmission side, when a communication section 3 is notified of a processing request (deletion and the like) for the documents stored in a document storing section 6 (HDD) of the image processing apparatus 2 at a receiver side from a UI section 4, a document information extracting section 8 extracts the document information of a portion used for identifying the requested document from among the documents stored in the document storing section 6 on the transmitter side, and transmits the processing request together with the document information to the image processing section 2 at the receiver side. In the image processing section 2 at the receiver side, when the communication section 3 receives the processing request together with the document information from the image processing apparatus 1 at the transmitter side which has transmitted the documents stored in the document storing section 6, a document searching section 9 searches the received document including the document information from among the documents stored in the document storing section 6, and the document storing section 6 is caused to execute processing for the received document.
