The method involves illuminating an eye with infrared and monochrome light of defined wavelengths. The light reflected by parts of the eye is received by a black-white sensor, and is forwarded to a controller for subsequent processing, evaluation, presentation and storage. Two image pairs simultaneously and/or successively received with the light are forwarded to the control unit, and images of all the image pairs are utilized by the control unit for determining possible pixel offset between the image pairs to combine the images to an overall picture in a pixel-precise manner.
