PURPOSE: A mooring post having a self generating function is provided to help mooring of ships by implementing illumination. CONSTITUTION: A mooring post having a self generating function comprises a body(102), a solar cell(104), a battery unit(106), and an illumination unit(108). The body has a hole in which the solar cell and the battery unit are located. The battery unit is charged with the electric current provided from the solar cell. The illumination unit, which is composed of light emitting diodes and formed to cover the hole, emits lights by the power provided from the battery unit.
