PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance estimation apparatus which allows distance estimation by a configuration simpler than before. SOLUTION: The distance estimation apparatus for estimating the distance to an object includes according to one viewpoint: a mirror; a camera having a lens for receiving a real image of the object and a mirror image of the object reflected in the mirror in an area other than the area in which the real image of the object is reflected and an imaging device for converting light received by the lens into image information; and an electronic control unit for estimating the distance to the object on the basis of the positions of the real image and mirror image of the object within an image imaged by the imaging device.
