PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing efficiency by regulating a rise of a page caused by a tendency of booklet closing (or tendency of booklet opening) in a short time, and to simplify the maintenance of a suction cup of a vacuum pad. SOLUTION: The booklet page turning apparatus includes a guide roller 32 which is provided near a suction cup 31 of a vacuum pad 10a so as to freely move in the projecting/retreating direction with respect to a page turning position and moves integrally with the movement of a vacuum pad 10b. A control part moves the vacuum pad 10b so as to approach a page Ta of a booklet T conveyed to the page turning position 5, regulates the rise of the page Ta of the booklet T by projecting the guide roller 32 to come into contact with the page Ta earlier than the suction cup 31, and when turning the page Ta, controls so as to make the guide roller 32 retreat so that the suction cup 31 of the vacuum pad 10b is made to contact with the page Ta.
