PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and highly accurate component mounting device. SOLUTION: A component mounting device 1 that mounts a component to a substrate 2 using a head that is provided in a position facing the substrate 2 includes: a stage 12 on which the substrate 2 and a component 3 are placed; stage drive sections 15 and 16 that drive the stage 12 on the same plane as a principal plane of the stage 12; a chip supplying section 14 that supplies the head with the component 3 on the stage 12; a head drive section 20 that drives the head in a direction perpendicular to the principal plane of the stage 12; a head rotation drive section 21 that rotates the head about a direction perpendicular to the principal plane of the stage 12 as a rotation axis; a first camera 18 that is fixed on the stage 12 and detects a surface image of the head; and a second camera 22 that is fixed in a position facing the stage 12 and detects a surface image of the stage 12.
