PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mobile robot capable of immediately detecting when a body of the mobile robot touches with an object and capable of buffering force applied by the contact between the object and the mobile robot. SOLUTION: The mobile robot includes: a cover covering the periphery of at least a lower part of a mobile robot body; a cover upper part supporting part to be movably attached to the cover in a face direction of the cover; a cover lower part supporting part for elastically supporting the lower part of the cover to a frame of the mobile robot body; and a detection unit for detecting the contact of the mobile robot with the object by detecting a displacement of the cover.
