PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jet washing apparatus and method of a leaf filter, capable of washing clogging of a filter element without disassembling an apparatus and without depending on backwashing and chemical washing, and capable of opening a vessel upper part and disassembling a filter nest with no trouble. SOLUTION: The jet washing apparatus includes a plurality of jet nozzles 12 for jetting washing liquid L toward the filtration surfaces of respective filter elements 1 and a washing liquid supplier 14 for supplying the washing liquid L from the outside of the vessel 9 to the respective jet nozzles. The jet nozzles 12 and the washing liquid supplier 14 are configured to be positioned or withdrawn between the outer edge 1a of the filter element and the inner surface of the vessel 9 so as not to interfere with the axial direction movement of the filter element 1.
