PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical path conversion type optical connector, eliminating complication in assembling the connector to be manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: According to a method of manufacturing the optical path conversion type optical connector, a core part 12 is previously resin-molded. The core part 12 includes at least an optical fiber hole forming part 15, where an optical fiber hole 15a is formed and a part of a positioning structure 16 to a circuit board 13 side. Next, an optical fiber 2 is inserted and fixed to the core part 12. A light transmitting resin 20 is over-molded to the core part 12, with the optical fiber being inserted and fixed. The light-transmitting resin 20 has an inner reflecting surface 20a, covering at least the tip face 15b of the optical fiber hole forming part 15 and is inclined to direct the optical path of the optical fiber toward an optical element 14 facing the tip face 15b of the optical fiber hole forming part 15.
