DNA sequence, and variants thereof, encoding a polypeptide from Lupinus that exhibits anti-fungal, anti-oomycete and insecticidal activity. The polypeptide also has plant growth promoter activity, acts as a fertilizer, and has human and animal nutritional properties. Also provided is a process for producing the polypeptide, a vector, a transformed microorganism, and transgenic plants.
