A joss stick comprising of a stick of porous materials from clay, ceramic or other non-combustible porous materials. This stick could either come in a straight rod of various different dimension or in a spiral form or irregular shape object. The rod is strengthened by incorporating a central core body made from metal rod or some fracture resistant material. The surface of this porous material is coated with a layer of flammable nanopartcles. This surface is subsequently coated with essential oil.
