PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-beam optical scanning device suitable for a high-definition image output capable of satisfactorily correcting the color deviation of images printed on a photoreceptor corresponding to a plurality of colors, particularly color deviation which is significant at an end in a sub-scanning direction, and an image forming apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: The multi-beam optical scanning device includes a plurality of incident optical systems which cause luminous flux incident on a polarizing surface of a rotary polygon mirror within a sub-scanning cross section from an obliquely upper side and a lower side relative to a plane vertical to the rotation axis of the rotary polygon mirror at limited angles; and a light source means having a plurality of light emitting parts which are provided conforming to the plurality of incident optical systems. The light emitting part corresponding to the printing of a head line in sub-scanning directions of the plurality of light emitting parts of the light source means disposed at the obliquely upper side and the light emitting part corresponding to the printing of the head line in sub-scanning directions of the plurality of light emitting parts of the light source means disposed at the obliquely lower side are differed from each other in the sub-scanning directions.
