<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard device which can prevent deterioration of brightness of lighting at keycaps. <P>SOLUTION: The keyboard device includes a circuit board 50 having contacts 511, 521; a retaining plate 20 holding keycaps 10 to be movable toward and away from the circuit board 50 in a position facing the contacts 511, 521; a lightguide plate 40 having light permeability and guiding light from a light source 54 to the keycaps 10; and a rubber dome 35 having light permeability and biasing the keycaps 10 in a direction away from the circuit board 50. The lightguide plate 40 is arranged on a side closer to a side of the keycaps 10 than to the membrane substrate 50 between the retaining plate 20 and the circuit board 50.
