The invention relates to a tilting mechanism (1) for an office chair, comprising a base support (2) that can be positioned on a chair column, a seat support (4) having a back rest support that is rigidly connected to the seat support (4). In order to provide a mechanism for an office chair, which provides comfort with comparatively little constructive expenditure, and which is comparable to the synchronous mechanism, it is proposed to connect the seat support (4) at two pivot points (16, 18), spaced apart in a longitudinal direction (13) of the seat, to the base support (2) such that a backward swivel movement of the backrest support causes a backward rotational movement (21) of the seat support (4), which is superimposed by a backward translational movement (22) of the seat support (4) in the longitudinal direction (13) of the seat. |
