PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for external use for hair protection, which is obtained by finding a component for suppressing saccharification of hair protein and protecting the hair and includes the component as an active ingredient, and to provide an agent composed of the active ingredient. SOLUTION: The composition for external use for hair is obtained by admitting that a perilla extract has an excellent inhibitory action on saccharification of hair protein and including the perilla extract as an active ingredient and is useful for hair protection such as prevention of hair breakage, and suppression of hair dullness.
