PURPOSE: A real-time bleed-through detection for continuous web printers is provided to remove the need for the intervention of a user. CONSTITUTION: An imaging device accompanying real-time bleed-through detection for continuous web printers comprises a transfer system, a plurality of heating units, a print station(20), an image sensor(80), and a controller(14). The transfer system transfers media along a media path. The heating unit generates thermal energy, which is partially absorbed by the media. The print station applies the ink to the first side of the media to form an image. The image sensor generates a reflection signal from the second side of the media. The controller controls a print parameter based on the reflection signal. |
