The ink cartridge has an ink tank with a cartridge base for the insertion in an inkjet printer, which has a light source and a light sensor. The units are provided for jet deviation for a filling level detection. Components of the light beam are not designed for light sensor. The interface lies in the plane of the cartridge base. The interface is responsible for the total reflection.
