PURPOSE: A transparent display device is provided to enlarge an applying area of a liquid crystal display panel by realizing a transparent display of a liquid crystal display panel and display images of various contents. CONSTITUTION: A liquid display panel(10) varies a phase of a polarized light according to operation of liquid crystals. A first and second polarization plate(11a,11b) are respectively arranged in an upper part and a lower part of a liquid display panel. A plurality of groove patterns(22) are formed in a lower surface. A first light guiding plate(20a) irradiates surface light source to a liquid crystal display panel by totally reflects the income light to a side direction. A second light guiding plate(20b) controls a liquid crystal display panel by a transparent mode or non-transparent mode.
