PURPOSE: A device for arresting criminals is intended to arrest a criminal safely by triggering fishhooks, hooking up the clothes of the criminal and then pulling a connecting string. CONSTITUTION: A device for arresting criminals comprises a triggering rod(10), a connecting string(20), fishhooks(30), a slide pipe(40) and an inertia member(50). The triggering rod is fitted in a muzzle(1). The connecting string is connected to the triggering rod and has flexibility and toughness. Fish hooks are movably connected on the leading end of the triggering rod. The slide pipe is inserted into the triggering rod and is freely slid. The inertia member is fixed to the slide pipe. The fishhooks are fitted in the slit grooves(51) of the inertia member. The inertia member is attached to the slide pipe and moves together with it.
