PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlight system for a vehicle capable of reducing lowering of detection capacity of an object in a light blocking part, even if light is automatically blocked in at least a part of an irradiation region to prevent glare. SOLUTION: This headlight system 100 includes headlight units 210L and 210R, a photographing unit 102 for acquiring image frame data in front of the vehicle, a light blocking storing part 106 for storing light blocking information in which the kind of a light distribution pattern and the light blocking region are made to correspond to each other, an extraction processing part 104 for extracting an attention object in the image frame data, and an irradiation control part 228 for selecting the light distribution pattern to be irradiated. The irradiation control part 228 selects the light distribution pattern capable of suppressing glare in relation to the attention object when the attention object is extracted in the image frame data. The extraction processing part 104 sets the attention region corresponding to the light blocking region of the light distribution pattern on the image frame data by referring to the light blocking information and enhances extraction capacity of the attention object in the attention region.
