Disclosed is a sampling circuit in a communication device, wherein the sampling circuit samples a transmission signal containing a specified transmission signal transmitted with an intermittent transmission pattern having regularity. The sampling circuit comprises: a sampling processing section which performs sampling processing to sample the transmission signal; a determination section which determines whether or not the sampling processing has been successful; and a sampling control section which sets a sampling acquisition interval in the sampling processing section, the sampling acquisition interval being different when sampling processing has been successful and when sampling processing has failed. The sampling processing section carries out sampling processing in accordance with the sampling acquisition interval which is set by the sampling control section.
