PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment apparatus for ballast water which is free from the risk of corrosion generation by direct contact of activated carbon and a metal member in a treatment tank, can quickly perform exchange operation of the activated carbon, and can continue treatment even when an unexpected trouble occurs. SOLUTION: The wastewater treatment apparatus of ballast water comprises a plurality of treatment tanks 10 which are connected in parallel to a ballast water path, accommodate activated carbon therein, and have an inflow pipe 11 allowing inflow of ballast water in the ballast water path and an outflow pipe 12 allowing outflow of the ballast water treated by the activated carbon to a ballast water path. The activated carbon is filled in an insulative water permeable bag having a mesh smaller than the particle size of the activated carbon, and accommodated in each treatment tank 10 in the form of the activated carbon bag in a large number of the bags. The plurality of the treatment tanks 10 are divided into at least two groups, and a selection means is provided which enables selection between a case where the ballast water in the ballast water path is made to flow into all of the plurality of the treatment tanks 10 and a case where the ballast water is not made to flow into at least one group of the treatment tanks 10.
