Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device wherein noise light to a light detecting element is reduced and the S/N ratio is improved. The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a first substrate (100) provided with a pixel circuit; a second substrate (101) disposed to face the first substrate (100) with a liquid crystal layer (30) therebetween; the light detecting element (17) provided on the first substrate (100); and a detection light filter (18), which is provided between the light detecting element (17) and the liquid crystal layer (30), and cuts light in the regions outside of the signal light region where light is detected by means of the light detecting element (17).
