PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling preliminary delivery for an inkjet recording apparatus capable of reducing the amount of accumulation of ink in an ink absorbing part without requiring a complicated mechanism. SOLUTION: When the preliminary delivery for delivering the ink during moving a recording head in a non-recording region is performed, a hardly accumulating ink is preliminarily delivered so that the whole region where an easily accumulating ink impacts is included, and the impact range may become wider than the impact region, the impact region is more surely overlapped to accelerate mixing the hardly accumulating ink and the easily accumulating ink.
