A device for processing a recording medium with embedded information is disclosed, which comprises: a Y-shaped passage mechanism, comprising a first passage (21), a second passage (22) and a third passage (23), wherein the inner side ends of each passage are intersected; a processing apparatus, comprising a magnetic head mechanism (31) located on the first passage (21) for reading the magnetic information of the recording medium and a printing mechanism (32) located on one side of the third passage (23) or one side of the second passage (22); and a guide mechanism (4), located on the intersection of the first passage (21), the second passage (22) and the third passage (23), for guiding the recording medium to transfer among passages. A method for processing a recording medium with embedded information is also disclosed. The solution can realize the read of magnetic information and the turnover of recording medium so that the duplex printing of recording medium is achieved by using one printing head.
