The method involves comparing the test data with the data for color transporting properties of a color transporting roller by a control unit, and applying the data as data for the color transport of the arbitrary roller. The extrapolation data is represented as a standardization function, which is also a scaling factor. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining specific color transporting properties of a color transporting roller for a printing ink.
