Acrylic textile materials are dyed or printed with a dyestuff of formula I the dyes being free from water-solubilising groups and in which D is a residue of a diazo compound, A is a substituted or unsubstituted 1,4-phenylene residue, R is a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted lower alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The group D may be derived from amines of the thiazole, benythiazole, imidazole, thiadiazole or isothiazole or benzene series, ring A may be substituted by halogen atoms, alkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, arylmercapto, trifluoromethyl, acylamino and alkylsulphonyl groups. The dyes are applied usually in presence of a dispersing agent or may be dissolved in an organic solvent.
