<p>Brake and clutch friction pads fitted pref. to a metal base are prepared by the application of heat and high pressure in a press onto the correct amount of material, which has been placed over the roughened and adhesive coated base to form a block, which after ejection is hardened out in a tempering furnace. Pref. the powder is pretableted. The base is pref. shot blased steel and the adhesive is applied in liquid form to its surface. Friction pads of this type have no rivets and thus have a larger effective surface area.</p> |
