A method for loading a molecule into a porous substrate. The molecule has the formula wherein R* is a hydrophobic species and R** is a hydrophilic species which is mixed with mesoporous substrate and allowed to contact liquid carbon dioxide for a sufficient period of time to allow the molecule to load into the pores of the mesoporous substrate.
