The claimed invention relates to devices for joining plastic pipes that are used in the industrial and residential sectors for transporting liquid and gaseous media, including for the creation of water supply and heating systems for buildings, structures, production departments, etc., and are connected by a coupling with the aid of diffusion welding. The intended technical result of the claimed invention is to reduce the installation time of systems for transporting liquid and gaseous media using the claimed fittings and simplify the installation technique while increasing the reliability of such systems by reducing the probability of error when weld shoulder depths are determined and set during installation of the pipes. The claimed technical result is achieved in that on the outside surface of the fitting from at least one edge thereof at a distance L from the edge of the fitting, which distance is equal to the length of the weld shoulder of the pipe, a marker is provided in the form of a closed figure that encompasses the body of the fitting, or at least one marker is applied in the form of a portion of a curve. The marker may also be in the form of a protruding structural element that is integral with the body of the fitting, or in the form of a depression in the body of the fitting, or in the form of a protruding structural element that is connected to the body of the fitting. The interface between one of the cylindrical parts of the body of the fitting and a surface adjacent to that part in the form of a truncated cone may also be used as a marker.
