<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag which changes to the most suitable state according to the magnitude of an impact and occupant's physique, that is, capable of receiving the occupant softly by increasing bag inner pressure to increase a restraint force when the impact and the occupant's physique are large and by reducing the inner pressure when they are small. <P>SOLUTION: An occupant protecting airbag includes: a main chamber, which expands by a gas jetted out from an inflator; a plurality of auxiliary chambers, which project outside the occupant side of the main chamber and communicate with the main chamber; and a strip of cloth, which covers vent holes provided at the inflator side of the main chamber and contacts the auxiliary chambers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
