<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drying of an electrolyte membrane caused by a gas with a low humidity supplied to a fuel cell by a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell includes: the electrolyte membrane composed of a polyelectrolyte; a pair of electrodes formed on the electrolyte membrane; a gas separator which is disposed on each electrode and forms a gas passage between the electrode and it; and a supply unit for drawing a gas into the gas passage and an exhaust unit for exhausting the gas from the gas passage, which are placed correspondingly to at least one gas passage. In the fuel cell, at least one gas passage is formed so that a flow speed of a gas flowing over the electrode in a region near the supply unit is lower than those of gases flowing over the electrodes in the regions except the region near the supply unit by forming the shape of the region near the supply unit, connected to the supply unit, so as to be different from those of the other regions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
