A charging method and system for a local IP access disclosed in the present invention include that: an interface between a mobility management network element and a charging system is set, a wireless side network element generates a Charging Data Record (CDR) according to the collected charging related information, and transmits the CDR to the mobility management network element, and then the mobility management network element transmits the CDR to the charging system through the set interface, thus the charging for the local IP access is completed; or, the wireless side network element transmits the collected charging related information to the mobility management network element, the mobility management network element generates the CDR according to the received charging related information, and then transmits the generated CDR to the charging system through the set interface, thus the charging for the local IP access is completed. The charging function for the local IP access is realized by the application of the present invention.
