PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize the density of an image in a color (for example, black) used in common when printing in a monochrome mode and when printing in a color mode. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a density calculation part 201 which calculates a difference between the first image density of a developer image transferred to a transfer part 80 in a state where a first image-forming unit 70K is at a first position (down position) and second image-forming units (70Y, 70M and 70C) are at a second position (up position), and the second image density of a developer image transferred to the transfer part in a state where the first and second image-forming units are both at the first position, and a density correction part 202 which corrects the density obtained when forming the first developer image to be formed by the first image-forming unit based on the difference between the first image density and the second image density calculated by the density calculation part.
