PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ZSM-48 product which reduces manufacturing expense and is more excellent. SOLUTION: A method for preparing ZSM-48 comprises: (a) preparing a reaction mixture comprising a source of silica (silicon dioxide), a source of trivalent metal oxide, an alkali metal oxide and a directing agent of ethylenediamine in a solvent phase comprising water, wherein the mixture, in terms of mole ratios of oxides, has the following composition ranges: SiO<SB>2</SB>/Me<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>: 100 to 1,500, M/SiO<SB>2</SB>: 0 to 0.4, RN/SiO<SB>2</SB>: 1.0 to 5.0, OH<SP>-</SP>/SiO<SB>2</SB>: 0 to 0.3, and H<SB>2</SB>O/SiO<SB>2</SB>: 10 to 100, wherein Me is trivalent metal, M is alkali metal and RN is ethylenediamine; and (b) the mixture is maintained under crystallization conditions until crystals of ZSM-48 are formed.
