PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-chain two-hydrophilic group-containing nonionic surfactant excellent in surface active performance such as foamability and emulsification dispersibility, having low stimulation and a molecular structure excellent in biodegradability, and useful for purposes such as a detergent. SOLUTION: The nonionic surfactant has a structure of an alkyl ester of a 10-26C unsaturated fatty acid, in which two hydrophilic groups are introduced to the position of double bonds, expressed by formula (2). In the formula, R3 represents a 1-20C alkyl group; AO represents an oxyalkylene group; and n and m are identical or different numbers from each other, each from 0 to 100 satisfying n+m=1 to 200.
