<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for ensuring noise performance, steering performance, and wear performance on a pavement and for ensuring traction on a muddy ground. <P>SOLUTION: A shoulder block 20 includes a third lug groove 22 shallower than a circumferential groove such that the third lug groove 22 does not extend across the shoulder block 20 to sufficiently ensure the rigidity of the shoulder block 20. Two recessed parts 24 are formed on the bottom of the third lug groove 22. Since edges of the recessed parts 24 do not contact a road surface, the edges of the recessed parts 24 have no affect on noise and abrasion of the shoulder block 20. During the traveling on a muddy ground, soil entering into the third lug groove 22 gets lodged into the edges of the recessed parts 24, so that the traction in the tire width direction is improved, enhancing the steering performance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
