METHOD AND APPARATUS OF SLEEP MODE OPERATION IN MULTI CARRIER SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus of a sleep mode operation in a multi-carrier system are provided to terminate a listening window of a secondary carrier in an early stage according to a traffic. CONSTITUTION: A transmission unit(1001) transfers traffic indication inactivation information to a terminal through a first carrier, and the traffic indication inactivation information indicates that the indication of a sleep period, a listening window and traffic generation is not transferred to the terminal. Through a first or second carrier which is activated during the listening window, the transmission unit transfers downlink data to the terminal. If the transmission of the data is terminated, a control unit(1005) generates a message to terminate the listening window of the first or second carrier of the terminal in an early stage.
