Film structure ,with directionally symmetrical gas barrier qualities, comprising gas barrier layers and no seperate binding layer and method of manufacture

A film structure (1) with high oxygen barrier qualities is disclosed. The structure (1) consists of at least five layers. Two outer layers (2) are made of a polyolefin. A gas barrier layer (4) is provided on the inside facing side of each of the two outer layers (2). A layer (3) which is made of a foamed synthetic material is provided between the two gas barrier layers (4). The outer layers (2) consist of a mixture of a polyolefin and a binder. This mixture eliminates the need to use separate binding layers that would otherwise be required between the outer layers (2) and the gas barrier layers (4).
