The device comprises an automotive battery (9,10), which is electrically connected to a power transfer unit (3,3',4,4') for wireless transportation of electricity to another power transfer unit. A charging station is provided, which is connected with the battery and the power transfer unit. A controller (7,8) is provided for controlling and regulation of the charging process. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a device for charging electrically driven vehicles.
