Disclosed are a method for producing a decorative metallic article to be used in jewelry goods, ornaments, clothing accessories and so on, in which a silver alloy composition for sintering that comprises silver or a silver alloy is combined with another composition for sintering that comprises copper or a copper alloy, and a decorative metallic article. The aforesaid method for producing a decorative metallic article is characterized by comprising: a step for forming a shaped and fired copper part which comprises forming a shaped copper part from a plastic copper composition that contains a powder of at least one member selected from copper and a copper alloy together with an organic binder, and then firing the shaped copper part to give a shaped and fired copper part (3); and a step for forming a shaped and fired copper/silver article which comprises forming a decorative article (6) from the shaped and fired copper part (3) obtained above and a plastic silver composition that contains a powder of at least one member selected from silver and a silver alloy together with an organic binder, and then firing the decorative article (6) to give a fired decorative article (7).
