RAPIDLY DISINTEGRATING SOLID ORAL DOSAGE FORM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rapidly disintegrating or soluble solid oral dosage form containing a poorly soluble nanoparticulate active ingredient.

SOLUTION: Disclosed is a formulation wherein a rapidly disintegrating nanoparticulate solid oral dosage form formulation containing a poorly soluble active ingredient having an effective average particle size of less than about 2,000 nm before being included in the dosage form and at least one surface stabilizer to be adsorbed on the surface of the active ingredient is present within a solid dosage form matrix containing a water-soluble or water-dispersible excipient selected from the group consisting of sugar, sugar alcohol, starch, a natural rubber, a natural polymer, a synthetic derivative of a natural polymer, a synthetic polymer, and a mixture thereof.
