PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for allowing a photographing person to check which photographing object is to be panned, when he/she takes photographs by panning. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging part; a detecting part; an identifying part; and a display control part. The imaging part takes photographs of an object image and outputs an image signal. The detecting part detects panning at the imaging apparatus. When the detecting part detects panning, the identifying part identifies an object to be panned within a captured area of an image based on the image signal output from the imaging part, according to panning detected by the detecting part. The display control part displays an identified object information on a display, along with the image based on the image signal output from the imaging part.
