PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser projector capable of suppressing power consumption, while improving the reaction speed and the contrast of a semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: A bit data converter 313 specifies a first pixel, where an image is projected by applying a drive current which is not higher than the threshold current to LDs (laser diodes) 361, 362, and a second pixel where an image is projected by applying a drive current over the threshold current. When the bit data converter 313 determines that there is the second pixel to be projected next to the first pixel, the converter controls the drive current to be imparted to the LDs 361, 362 on projecting a specified pixel being the first pixel projected prior to the second pixel so sa to be equal to the threshold current.
