<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems wherein it is incorrectly detected as temperature of a cooking container is suddenly changed when output after amplification is simultaneously increased and decreased by switching an amplification rate of an amplification means with intensity of infrared energy emitted from the cooking container up to now and errors and incorrect detection spoil cooking performance and convenience when the amplification rate of the amplification means is switched in the middle of a heating process. <P>SOLUTION: An induction heating cooker has a heating coil 105 for heating the cooking container 102, a control means 106 for heating the cooking container 102 by controlling current applied to the heating coil 105, an infrared ray detection means 107 for detecting infrared energy emitted from the cooking container 102, the amplification means 110 for amplifying output of the infrared ray detection means 107, an amplification rate switching means 111 for switching the amplification rate, and a process switching detection means 106a for detecting switching of the heating process.
