<p>The device (1) has a strand intake (2) supplying filter segments to a strand forming unit (4) for wrapping the segments with wrapping material strips. A sealing device (6) seals the strips along a seam. A suction device (8) is arranged before the sealing device and sucks air from a surrounding e.g. angular section, of the segments. The suction device is arranged in an area of a sleeve of the intake. The sleeve includes a guiding side, which faces towards the segments. The guiding side has a concave, guide surface adapted to a convex, surface curvature of the segments. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a multifilter strand from filter segments for a tobacco industry.</p> |
