PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing capable of reducing the mass of an outer ring while maintaining strength of the outer ring. SOLUTION: In this roller bearing, recessed first and fourth surfaces S1 and S4 of axial one side and axial the other side end surfaces 11 and 12 of the outer ring 2 and second and fifth surfaces S2 and S5 extended from the recessed first and fourth surfaces S1 and S4 obliquely with respect to the axially perpendicular direction are recessed from third and sixth surfaces S3 and S6, and thereby, the mass of the outer ring can be reduced compared to the case where the end surfaces 11 and 12 are not recessed. Further, the first-third surfaces S1-S3 and the fourth-sixth surfaces S4-S6 are arranged on the axial outer side than axial ends 15 and 16 of an outer ring raceway 2A, and thereby, the strength of the outer ring 2 can be maintained.
