The method involves utilizing a rivet (1) i.e. blind rivet, with a rivet body (17). Two pre-defined target setting sections (21, 23) are arranged with each other in predetermined axial distance. The target setting sections are plastically deformed and undeformed by communicating with forming loads (R), respectively, where the forming loads are different or equal. Axial compressive forces of the forming loads are imparted by the target setting sections. Different crush resistances are carried out by the target setting sections. An independent claim is also included for a blind rivet for riveting two workpieces.
