<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit stable writing operation to display a high-quality image with a discharge cell adjoining an unlit cell while suppressing an influence affecting a display image. <P>SOLUTION: The method of driving plasma display device is characterized in that, when in a certain field, a discharge cell whose gradation to be displayed is a lighting threshold or more is set to be a lighting cell in the field, a discharge cell whose gradation to be displayed is less than an unlit threshold is set to be an unlit cell in the field and a lighting cell adjoining the unlit cell is set to be a space unstable cell in the field, and if the gradation displayed by the space unstable cell is less than the gradation threshold "100", the discharge cell adjoining the space unstable cell is lighted in the prescribed subfield of the field; and if the gradation displayed by the space unstable cell is the gradation threshold "100" or more, the discharge cell adjoining the space unstable cell is lighted in subfields which include the prescribed subfield and which are more than the prescribed ones. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
